Gary Andrew Speed, MBE (8 September 1969 – 27 November 2011) was a Welsh professional footballer and manager. As a player, he is best known for his spell between 1988 and 1996 at Leeds United where he won the English Football League First Division Championship in 1992, and also for his spell between 1998 and 2004 at Newcastle United as well as three and a half years at Bolton Wanderers during their days under Sam Allardyce's management (wikipedia)
